Parents or caregivers of individuals with disabilities (18+)
Service Description
This type of coaching provides individual sessions to assist adults who are the parents or caregivers of individuals with disabilities. During these sessions, we coach parents and caregivers on topics surrounding grief, blame, shame, advocacy, support, impact of disability on family unit, and new disability based barriers while providing support with finding resources and solutions. Provides parents and caregivers a safe space to vent their frustrations and find meaningful solutions. Additionally, It helps to address how to create and implement reasonable expectations for children and older individuals with disabilities to avoid learned helplessness.
Cancellation Policy
To cancel or reschedule your individual sessions, please contact us as soon as possible, preferably within 24 hours prior to the start time of your session. Upon the start of the session, clients have a 15 minute grace period to log on for their sessions. If the client does not show up within 15 minutes or communicate about need to be late/reschedule, client will be charged a $50 no show fee. Fee may be waived if absence was determined to be due to unavoidable or extenuating circumstances. After 3 no call no shows, client will then be discharged and unable to reschedule. Any waiver of the $50 no show fee is subject to the discretion of NGU Counseling.
